Ruled by an interplanetary parliament, the Alliance was a beacon of civilization. The savage outer planets were not so enlightened and refused Alliance control. The war was devastating, but the Alliance's victory over the Independents insured a safer universe. And now everyone can enjoy the comfort, and enlightenment of your civilization."
Set 500 years into the future, Earth as we know it now was used up. The human beings had to resort to moving out of Earth and into new galaxies. They found dozens of solar systems, hundreds of planets and thousands of moons. They terraformed each land mass that took hundreds of years. But some planets gave resistance against the formed Alliance, government body to unify all beings. The war between the Alliance and the Independance was devastating, both sides loosing amounts of casualities. But in the end, the Alliance won.
Six years later comes Malcolm Reynolds, captain of the Firefly class spaceship, Serenity. He has everything, two good fighters, one good mechanic and one good pilot. He even picked up a Bona Fide companion. Already there are adventures that would suit a lifetime, but when Mal decides to take on some passengers to earn some extra money, his life gets a little more interesting then he'd like. He took on a preacher, Shepard Book onboard as well as a doctor and his sister. Enter Simon and River Tam. Fugitives of the Alliance. Their story is only half of what is really going on.
The nine crewmembers travel the galaxy, taking on any jobs that they can, running away from the Alliance and trying to figure out what is eating River Tam's brain.
