In March 2006, at the urging of a few other local fans, I created a yahoo group for local Chicago Buffy fans to chat about the show Buffy fans Chicago. One of the goals of this group was to eventually facilitate face-to-face meetings of local fans. FYI, the group has close to 25 members and for July has had approx. 120 messages.

Then on July 13, 2006 the first meeting Chicago Buffy/Angel meetup was held. Meeting one of the goals of the yahoo group. At the July 13 meetup 12 local Buffy fans showed up and discussion about the future of the meetup and other things Buffy and Angel was had. Those in attendance showed alot of enthusiasm and energy about Buffy fandom. I wrote more about the meetup on Tara's Wizard livejournal.

Then on July 29 will be Slayathon 2006at the Chicago Dave and Busters. Starting at 11.00 a.m. and going till 12.00 midnite watching Buffy episodes with other local fans. Proceeds benefit Illinois Make-a-Wish foundation.
